Publisher’s Case: Up to 300% ROI With Traffic From the Philippines

To successfully monetize traffic, publishers need more than just a good site – it's essential to find the right GEO and put together a winning combination of monetization formats. One of EVADAV Ad Network's partners managed to squeeze the maximum out of traffic on their streaming site: the publisher earned over $178,000 in 40 days on traffic from the Philippines GEO!

In this case study, we break down how the publisher built a profitable combo using traffic from streaming sites and social communities in the Philippines (PH), combining three monetization formats at once: direct link, popunder, and in-page.

Starting Data

The task wasn't simply to pour in traffic and grab some quick cash. It was important to preserve a positive UX for the audience, find the right display frequency, and gradually grow revenue by adding new formats and sources – rather than squeezing everything out of a single channel. It was exactly this step-by-step approach, working closely with a manager, that delivered the result: from $0 to a peak of $5,432 a day in just 40 days.

Traffic source: streaming sites, communities, and social groups (Meta)

Traffic type: mainstream

GEO: Philippines (PH)

Formats: Direct link, Popunder, In-page

Revenue: $178,027+ in 40 days, CPM by source:

  • Streaming traffic (Popunder): $0.4-0.6

  • Social traffic (Popunder via direct link): $3-4

Why the Philippines

Source: https://sigma.world/news/philippines-igaming-ggr-2025-growth/

The Philippines is one of the fastest-growing iGaming markets in Southeast Asia: the sector grew 165% in 2024 and is projected to approach $3 billion in 2026. The audience here is mobile and young: over 70% of the population is under 35. Popunder and in-page formats have traditionally performed well on local streaming and entertainment sites without alienating users. This is exactly what drove the success of this combo: the publisher worked with the audience and formats best suited to this GEO.

Besides, the Philippines is a promising GEO for VPN and Utility offers because it combines a large, mobile-first audience with growing demand for privacy, security, faster connectivity, device protection, and performance tools. By the end of 2025, the country had around 98 million internet users, with internet penetration reaching 83.8%, while active mobile connections exceeded the population, highlighting strong multi-device and multi-SIM behavior.

Step 1. Launching Popunder

The publisher signed up with EVADAV in late May 2026 and immediately started sending traffic from their streaming sites to the Popunder format, without any outside help. Basically, his website was well-tuned for iGaming, VPN, and Utilities ads.

Example of one of his streaming sites (localized into Filipino) and localized In-page push:

As is often the case with a solo launch, the frequency settings and popunder trigger method were far from optimal: more than 3 times a day post the risk being that an overly aggressive setup could quickly hurt UX for the streaming audience, and traffic quality along with it.

After having his websites quickly moderated within 10 minutes, the publisher launched Popunder traffic for iGaming, VPN, and Utility offers:

Step 2. Manager Onboarding and First Results

The publisher contacted their personal EVADAV manager in one click through the dashboard:

  1. He connected his websites quickly - moderation took only 10 minutes.

  2. The manager reviewed the traffic, GEO, website setup, and initial Popunder performance.

  3. Together, they optimized Popunder frequency and trigger settings to protect UX and improve traffic quality.

  4. The manager recommended combining Popunder, In-page, Direct Link, and display traffic for stronger monetization.

  5. Advertisers increased their bids after seeing better conversions, registrations, and deposits.

  6. Adding In-page increased revenue by 30%.

  7. Display traffic also performed well, helping boost overall profit to 300%.

Initially, they fine-tuned:

  • Popunder display frequency - 2 per day

  • The ad's trigger method, so it wouldn't interrupt content viewing or erode audience loyalty - on the first click instead of pause or other video controls.

The results weren't long in coming: by the very next day after the settings were adjusted, advertisers started raising their bids on the publisher's traffic. The reason was simple: they saw a high CR and growth in registrations and deposits on their iGaming offers. Good UX translates directly into higher-quality traffic, which turns into higher bids.

Step 3. Adding In-Page

In the middle of June, again working with the manager, the publisher launched a second format on the same placements – In-page. Rather than competing with popunder for the same placement, it complemented it organically.

Example of In-page:

The result: +30% on top of current revenue, with no loss of quality on the already-optimized popunder stream. This shows that for streaming traffic, it pays more to test compatible formats on the same audience than to squeeze the maximum out of just one format. Check the impressions starting from 18.06:

Step 4. Scaling Through Social Traffic

The EVADAV manager shared an insight with the publisher: social traffic has historically converted well on our ad network. The publisher put that to use, launching several social traffic sources from PH and monetizing them via direct link. This method allowed us to reach 240-300% ROI. Check days 28, 27, 24, 23, 20, and 19 – this is when social traffic completed the ad format strategy:

This turned out to be the most profitable move in the whole case:

Fill rate held at 99–100%, meaning almost all traffic passed the advertiser filter and was counted as quality traffic! Combined with the high CPM, this delivered a 240–300% ROI on Meta (social) sources alone.

  • Revenue: $178,027+ in 40 days

  • Peak daily profit: $5,432

  • Fill rate: 99–100%

  • ROI on social (Meta) sources: 240–300%

  • Revenue lift from adding in-page: +30%

  • Advertiser bid growth: starting as early as day 2 after UX optimization

What worked best?

  1. Tuning popunder frequency and trigger method together with the manager. Preserving UX led directly to higher advertiser bids almost immediately.

  2. Diversifying formats within the same audience. Adding in-page to an already-working popunder setup increased revenue by +30% with no "cannibalization" of existing traffic.

  3. Meta social traffic via direct link. The highest CPM in the case ($3–4) combined with 99–100% fill rate made this source the key driver of the 240–300% ROI.

  4. Combining owned traffic (streaming sites) with social traffic (communities). This mix reduced reliance on any single channel and helped the publisher reach a peak of $5,432 a day.

At every growth point in this case – from the initial frequency tuning to the idea of testing social traffic – the personal manager's support played a decisive role. Early on, when there's still little data and mistakes are costly, this kind of expert guidance helps reach a working model fast, instead of burning budget and traffic on blind trial and error.

Takeaways

This case shows that a publisher's revenue growth on iGaming traffic from the Philippines isn't a one-off stroke of luck – it's the result of consistent, deliberate steps:

  • Treating a positive UX as priority #1, not an afterthought

  • Gradually layering in compatible monetization formats on the same traffic

  • Diversifying sources from owned streaming sites to social communities

  • Working closely with a manager at every stage, not just at launch
